Wilson County was established in 1799 and was named for Major David Wilson, a North Carolina hero of the American Revolution. The county seat is Lebanon. The county is home to the Cedars of Lebanon State Park, Cumberland University, Castle Heights Military Academy and the corporate headquarters for Cracker Barrel Restaurants.
